LG has announced to come up with its MeeGo loaded GW990 mobile phone in the coming days. It is to be noted that MeeGo was recently launched jointly by Nokia and Intel at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Earlier, the LG GW990 handset was designed for Intel's Moorestown platform and was slated to come up with Intel's own Moblin Operating System. But, Intel’s Moblin and Nokia's Maemo have joined together to form a new tablet OS called ‘MeeGo’.
Now, LG GW990 handset will come preloaded with MeeGo OS. However, Nokia hasn’t announced any such device till now.
As per the limited information, the device will sport 4.8 inches TFT touchscreen along with the features like GPRS Class 10, EDGE Class 10, 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It is expected to carry a 5 MP camera with autofocus and LED flash.
The LG GW990 mobile phone is expected to be available in the second half of this year in Korea initially and then followed by other markets.
