AR Rahman Loses Out To The Social Network At 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards AR Rahman |
Indian based music composer AR Rahman was left disheartened after he was not declared the winner of best original score trophy at the 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards. Rahman was nominated in the best original score category for Danny Boyle's 127 Hours but faced disappointment after he lost out to The Social Network’s duo Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.
Others competing in the category were: Alexandre Desplat (The King's Speech), Danny Elfman (Alice in Wonderland) and Hans Zimmer (Inception).
A dark ambient soundtrack as claimed by Reznor received high praise from the experts and till now the score has won six major awards and five other major nominations including the recent Golden Globe award.
The Social Network which is about the founding of the social networking website Facebook and the resulting lawsuits is directed by David Fincher.
On the other hand, Rahman has won fourteen Filmfare Awards, eleven Filmfare Awards South, four National Film Awards, two Academy Awards, two Grammy Awards, a BAFTA Award and a Golden Globe.
