Gurinder Chadha who is an Indian filmmaker based in Britain is reportedly making an animated musical on monkeys and the music is going to be composed by A.R. Rahman.

 

The musical is named as Monkeys of Bollywood and the movie tells the story about a couple of monkeys in Mumbai who fight with the devil to stop it from taking over the world. It is reported that the movie has taken inspiration from the Ramayana.

 

It is a DreamWorks project which will be produced by Chadha along with husband Paul Berges. Rahman wrote on Twitter, "Excited about entering the world of Dreamworks animation...! (sic)."

 

Famous lyricist Stephen Schwartz is also going to work for the project. A source reported that Schwartz said, "As soon as I heard that DreamWorks Animation envisioned making an animated Bollywood movie, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. The fact that A.R. Rahman got involved made it an even more exciting project."
