‘Anjaana-Anjaani’ Remake Of ‘The Girl On The Bridge’? Priyanka Chopra |
The first scene of ‘Anjaana-Anjaani’ shows a girl and a boy meeting on a bridge to commit suicide. The speculations are going on that this Ranbir and Priyanka starrer movie is a remake of a similar 1999 French movie ‘The Girl On The Bridge’.
Director of the movie, Siddharth Anand is surprised on the rumor and on the fact that even Priyanka has spoken about this French movie on the television.
He adds, “Has she really spoken about it? Well, the similarity to the film is purely coincidental. I haven't seen The Girl On The Bridge. I don't know what it is about. I completely deny any similarity."
An infuriated Siddharth further adds, "When my first film Salaam Namaste released, people said it looked like Hum Tum. Then for my Bachna Ae Haseeno, the talk was that it was copied from Alfie. No such thing. When people see Anjaana Anjaani, they'd know it's an original work."
Even before its release, the movie is under speculations and even the first poster of the movie was compared to a British movie called ‘An Education and Walk In The Clouds’.
But the harassed director has withdrawn the poster and he adds, “Actually, it's a classic romantic pose which has been used in movies from time-immemorial. But we don't want even the slightest suggestion of plagiarism on our heads. So we've withdrawn that poster.
Meanwhile, the director of the movie has instructed his crew members and actors not to talk about the movie in relation or resemblance to any other Hollywood or Bollywood flick, as he believes that ‘Anjaana-Anjaani’ is his original creation and nothing has been copied.
