Aamir Khan Apologises For Hurting Washermen Community’s Feelings With Dhobi Ghat Title Aamir Khan |
According to sources the title of Aamir Khan’s Dhobi Ghat has hurt the sentiments of the washermen community and the actor has apologised for unintentionally hurting them.
Aamir also added that though he believes in valuing emotions of people but that should not compromise his creativity.
It is reported that Akhil Bharatiya Dhobi Mahasangh members met Aamir and expressed their unhappiness over the flick’s title. Aamir said, "Initially, I thought they wanted to trouble me on the eve of my film's release. But, later I realised that their views were genuine. I told them that I would not have chosen the title if they had approached me a year earlier."
However, all misunderstandings seems to have cleared after Mahasangh's youth cell General secretary Amit Khatri after watching the movie said the movie is not a tale of the community but the title refers to an area in Mumbai called Dhobi Ghat. He said that he was concerned about how their community will be represented in the flick but, after watching the movie they decided not to go ahead with the demand.
