Unnaipol Oruvan
Unnaipol Oruvan

Music: Shruti Haasan

Unnaipol Oruvan is a must-watch for those who would love to see a challenging face-off between two mighty men over events, which are not recorded by legal system.

Chakti has excelled in his debutant venture with this movie and has done complete justice to the original Hindi version, ‘A Wednesday’. This movie is a must-watch for all the people with both Kamal Haasan and Mohanlal showcasing the best of their talents.

‘Unnai Pol Oruvan’ revolves around a sequence of events which happen between 2 p.m.- 6 p.m. on a usual day. People, who are participants of this sequence, mark this day as the most unforgettable one.

Well, Raghavan Maraar (Mohan Lal), City commissioner of police, Chennai is not yet another person who admits on the last day of his service that a stranger came into his life and took all his possessions.

For people, who have not watched ‘A Wednesday’, let me brief you on the story.
Kamal Haasan makes anonymous calls to Mohanlal asking the release of 4 deadliest criminals, failing which he will put the city in trouble with the bombs he had planted in four different locations. Maraar, who considers this as a prank, realises the seriousness of the matter only when he comes to know of the bomb planted at Anna Saalai police station will explode off.

The movie takes a serious turn from this point.  Maraar, who in attempt to save his city, ropes in four best cops of the department for releasing the criminals. The breathtaking climax would just let you get thrown into extreme with a sudden twist in tale.

Hats off to Neeraj Pandey for the conceptualizing of the entirely novel concept! People who have not watched the original version will really get irritated in the initial 20 minutes. ). But later, once we’re drawn in to the core of subject, it’s a different scenario brimmed with nail-biting sequences.

Even though Chakri has done a good job, he had to work more on dialogues so that they were much more power-packed.

Kamal Haasan, once again, has excelled with his performance, whereas Mohanlal steals the spotlights with a tremendous show. His conversations with journalist and entire department are so catchy, especially where he meets the computer hacker.

Other people have done a decent job for their roles.  Shruthi Haasan, as the music director, has been able to deliver a decent job.

This movie, which is a not-so-high budget movie, is all setting fires to the box office and yielding good collections for the producers.

In short, this is a must watch.
