With the grand opening of much awaited vampire franchise, ‘Eclipse’ in more than 4,400 U.S. and Canada theatres it is expected that the sleeping box office will be jolted awake with Twilight’s new sequel.
Paul Dergarabedian, head of Hollywood.com Box Office quoted, “It's been kind of a bummer summer, but thank goodness for films like the 'Karate Kid,' 'Toy Story 3' and now 'Eclipse' because it just takes a couple of films to turn things around.”
The vampire is back with the bang and fans who have not read the ‘Twilight’ series must be eagerly waiting to know what will happen next. The new installment will take off from where ‘New Moon’ left.
The high demand of the movie forced the theatres to open advance booking from the month of May in order to avoid the mess.
‘Eclipse’ has hit the theatres just seven months after the release of ‘New Moon’.
According to the latest reports the crowd seems to be very excited about the movie and are impatiently waiting to see the intense love triangle between Edward, Bella and Jacob.
Meanwhile, the studio behind ‘Eclipse’, Summit Entertainment claimed that it expects the movie to earn $150 million in the U.S. and Canada over six days from Wednesday.
The third installment of the vampire series, ‘Twilight’ is believed to have extra ingredients of love, sex and violence.
