Sony Scores High Due To ‘3-Idiots’  Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi, R.Madhavan |
The magic of ‘3-Idiots’ is still working and after its world’s television premier on Sony Entertainment Channel, it has scored 10.9 points on the TRP chart. The score is higher than the ‘Ghajini’ one last year on Colors.
The 8 point TRP record of Colors channel has been broken by Aamir Khan’s ‘3-Idiots’ and it has overall jumped to the 270 mark, which is the highest in the last 18 months.
Now, Sony and Colors have become the closest competitors and the battle would get more intense in the coming days as Sony will start ‘KBC’ and Colors will start ‘Bigg Boss’. The two stars who would host the respective shows are Big B and Salman Khan and their presence would create a stiffer and a neck to neck competition.
But, Sony is confident that they are all prepared to face the competition and Ajit Thakur, EVP and business head for the channel adds, “With all our daily shows and reality capsules doing well, we’ll crack it before ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’starts in October. The industry speculated that we’d climb just 30-40 points. But 108 points came as an eye-opener for many, including our top competitors.”
Even Star Plus will compete with these two top channels as Akshay Kumar would host their ‘Master Chef’ show and will divide the viewership.
