Shah Rukh Falls Short Of Directors! Shah Rukh Khan |
Now that is the disadvantage of being a big time celebrity that when you want to make a small film, then everyone will relate the word ‘small’ to your big image! That’s what is happening with SRK, as directors do not want to make a small film with him.
Shah Rukh’s upcoming movie is ‘Ra.One’ which is undoubtedly a massive budget film and even his next ‘Don’ sequel is on the same lines. But after doing these two big movies, he wants to take a break and wants to make a short and sweet comedy film.
Meanwhile SRK, who has meeting various directors for the purpose quips, “But no one wants to make a small film with me.”
He adds further, “I’ve had a chat with a lot of wonderful, new guys like Anurag Basu, Imtiaz Ali, Anurag Kashyap and Vishal Bharadwaj and I’ve told them that I want to make a small, interesting and stylized purely romantic film on characters my age. I want to produce it under the Red Chillies banner, but no one’s come up with a script yet.”
Khan now thinks that ‘small is the new big’ now and the chances of small time movie becoming a hit have doubled. He is also making a short film presently and it is titled as ‘Always, Kabhi Kabhi’.
He details about it, “I’m already making a low-budget, sweet film about college and high school kids called Always Kabhi Kabhi, directed by Roshan Abbas, which should release in the next few months.”
He adds further, “It has the same idea as 3 Idiots, that parents expect certain things of their children, and there’s a lot of pressure on the children when they start falling short of those expectations. It’s a sweet film, and I hope youngsters like it.”
Khan also says that he is waiting for a good script for his movie, and even he is a strong believer in acting in small films too. He has previously acted in movies like ‘Chalte Chalte’ and ‘Yes Boss’, which were a big hit.
