‘Red Alert’ Is Not A Message Oriented Film Sunil Shetty |
The bitter side of reality in the naxalite territory and their struggle is the theme of the movie, ‘Red Alert’. Ananth Mahadevan directs the movie, without making it a message oriented film.
There have been applauses and appreciations for Mahadevan’s ‘Red Alert’ in many film festivals even before its release. But, Ananth thinks that it is just a movie and shows the darker shades of violence.
He adds, “It is not a message oriented film. I don't believe in giving messages. I am not a prophet. I am not a messenger. I show things as they are."
Ananth further adds, “It's up to the authorities and the audiences concerned to pick the subtle hints in the film. The film will definitely move the audience. You will go back with a different cinematic experience."
Sunil Shetty and Samira Reddy are in the lead roles and both the actors have shown their versatile acting skills in the film. Sunil has also won appreciations from the industry and film festivals mentors.
Ananth adds, “Well, Suniel has gone on record saying that this is his best ever performance and this is a film that he will treasure forever. With this film, he has set a new standard for himself making it difficult for him to now select roles which match up to this film."
The director has also been able to outcast the glamorous style of Sameera and she will be seen totally de-glam and as a naxalite in the movie.
Ananth adds, “No one in the film is glamourous. As far as Sameera is concerned, why should I cast actors only according to their images? Sameera is so different in this film that it is difficult to recognize her."
Ananth is a highly experienced person in the small as well as the big screen and he is confident that the film will definitely move the audience.
