The Legendary Locations Of ‘Patiala House’ Akshay Kumar

Akshay and Anushka starrer Patiala House has begun its shooting in some of the rarest locations of the world, the cricketing grounds of England. The Oval, Lord’s and Trent Bridge are the top locations.

The movie ‘Patiala House’ doesn’t sound a movie based on cricket, it sounds more like a family gossip.

But, the story mostly revolves around an immigrant Punjabi family that lives in Patiala House. Akshay is the son and he dreams to become a bowler for the England cricket team, but the family completely opposes the idea.

Bhushan Kumar, the co-producer with Mukesh Talreja adds, “We have two Test matches in the film. It wasn’t difficult getting permission to shoot in these legendary cricketing grounds. You don’t have to pull strings or go through the bureaucratic hurdles that you usually face when shooting in India. Filming in England is a cake walk; it just takes time to get the permits in order.”

Many real time cricketers like West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard, South Africa’s Herschelle Gibbs, Australia’s Andrew Symonds, Simon Katich and Dirk Nannes, Pakistan’s Kamran Akmal will make appearance in the movie.

Bhushan Kumar further adds, “It was very difficult because they had to take permission from their Cricket Boards. Unfortunately, even though we were in talks with MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh, they could not get permission from the BCCI.”
