After endorsing Pepsi, Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has now become the brand ambassador for consumer goods giant Panasonic India. It is his second endorsement deal so far. At an event held at the Ashok Hotel in New Delhi on Saturday (4th April), he was officially tasked to promote Panasonic’s VIErA LCDs and Plasmas as well as television and home theatre brands across India
The 26-year-old actor, who made his debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Saawariya” in 2007, said that, he has chosen to endorse Panasonic after careful thought. He felt honoured to be its brand ambassador, he added. According to Manish Sharma, head of marketing at Panasonic India (Consumer Electronics and Home Appliances), the company zeroed in on Ranbir because he matched the brand personality.
A company official said that, as the brand ambassador, Ranbir would be involved in communicating the brand values of the company through multi-media campaigns. A special commercial featuring Ranbir will be aired on television starting this month. Panasonic India CEO, Mr Daizo Ito said that, they are confident that this association would be instrumental in communicating the trendy yet traditional image of their products particularly high-end products such as Viera LCD across the country.
