Actor Ranbir Kapoor was awarded with the Teacher’s Achievement Award on Sunday for his great contribution to the world of entertainment.  

 

The 28 years old actor, who debuted with the movie ‘Sawariya’ received the trophy from veteran actor Anupam Kher and advertising person and lyricist Prasoon Joshi.

 

Ranbir added on the occasion, "I come from the family where both teachers play an important part. Teachers in form of guardian and teachers in form of whiskey. Thanks Teacher's, I'm grateful to you.”

 

The other nominees for the award were singer Shaan, actress Vidya Balan, musician Shantanu Moitra and actor Boman Irani.

 

Teacher's Achiever of the Decade Award went to actor Boman Irani, while actress Shabana Azmi received the life time achievement teacher’s award.

 

Presently, Ranbir is working on his next projects, ‘Rockstar’ and ‘Silence’. He also earned much critical acclaim from the recently released movie ‘Anjaana-Anjaani’, where he starred opposite  Priyanka Chopra.
