Ranbir and Priyanka starrer ‘Anjaana-Anjaani’ ruled the North India, while Ash and Rajni starrer ruled the South! In the Northern regions, Ranbir outwitted Rajni with around Rs 260 million in the first weekend and Rajni outwitted the actor with a whooping earning of 1 Billion in South.

 

Rs 260 million was the closing amount for Priyanka and Ranbir starrer in North, Ash and Rajni starrer ‘Robot’ could only earn Rs 70 million in the Northern region. In the southern part, ‘Endhiran’ broke all records by earning a staggering Rs 1 Billion; the tickets were even sold for Rs 5000.

 

While ‘Khicdhi’, yet being a laughing riot movie got sandwiched between the two and just earned Rs 55 million, it may do well in its second week.

 

While Deepak Taluja, Senior VP of Fun Cinemas told, "In North and West Delhi, Anjaana Anjaani has done better vis-a-vis Robot and Khichdi with 80-85 percent occupancy while the others got only 50-60 percent and 20-30 percent occupancies respectively.”

 

 

Yogesh Raizada, Corporate head of Wave Cinemas told, “The weekend was rocking. Anjaana Anjaani was very good with over 80 percent occupancy while Robot was in the second spot with close to 70 percent footfalls. Khichdi, however didn't go as per expectations and managed only about 50 percent occupancy.”

 

 

The reactions for the movie were huge in their respective target sectors and ‘Robot’ being the most expensive film of the Indian cinema at last reaped all the profit too! It also proves that the 61 years old, Rajni can do anything, right from taking artificial intelligence to the next levels.
