Priyanka Chopra More Into Meaningful Films Priyanka Chopra |
After National Award winners like Shabana Azmi and Tabu, it is now Priyanka Chopra who is getting into their trend of doing more selective worthy films. Comparatively speaking Priyanka outstands from the previous two National Award winners as she reigns in meaningful and commercial films equally well.
She has earned remarkable applause for her critically acclaimed films like ‘Fashion’ and ‘Kaminey’. Priyanka stated that she had selectively chosen the character of ‘Meghna Mathur’ in ‘Fashion’ as there was lot of substance in the character and was confident that it will leave a mark.
Further she stated, “I believed that ‘Fashion’ is a special film to me. When Madhur narrated the script to me, I knew Meghna Mathur (my character) would leave her mark. While I picked up many awards for this performance including the Filmfare trophy, the National Award came as a natural culmination for a role I truly believed in. I’m grateful to Madhur for his faith in me.”
Enthusiastically she added, “Fashion was there competing with the best of regional cinema; and then to have still bagged an honor is something that gives me a terrific high. I’m on cloud nine,”
Checking with her last year’s result she had done few many odd films that is not relevantly meaningful ones. To this, she stated that she wanted to maintain a balance between meaningful and commercial films.
Well that’s a good decision because getting too serious is sometimes boring.
