Aamir Khan is in the news again, his upcoming release called ‘Peepli Live’ is a social satire and a small budget film. Aamir’s active involvement in promoting the movie has aroused interest among the audience.

 

 

It is the fourth project from Aamir Khan’s Production House and it introduces debutante director Anusha Rizvi through this film. It is a small budget film and the amount approximates to 10 crores.

 

Aamir adds, “It is along the lines of Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron. The difference being that Jaane Bhi Do was farcical. And contrary to popular belief, Peepli.. is not about farmer suicides, but addresses the urban-rural divide, though in a very humorous manner.”

 

 

 The movie casts a group of diverse talents from theatre. The actors play the role of impoverished villagers. The main characters are Natha (Omkar Das Manikpuri) and Budhia (Raghubir Yadav. The story revolves around the urban and rural divide in India and farmer suicide, though in a very humorous manner. Rajpal Yadav also stars in the movie and will be seen in his usual humorous charcter.

 

The film is shot in Bhadwah village in Madhya Pradesh.

 

Now, Aamir has geared up for the movie promotion and it will be released across territories including US, Australia, New Zealand and Middle East. The movie will be released by Aamir Khan Productions and UTV.

 

 

The film has been to prestigious film festivals such as Berlin, Edinburgh, Seattle and Sundance Film Festivals.

 

Typical ways of promotions are used in the movie, as Aamir Khan doesn’t feature in the film, his picture will be seen on the packets of local chips. Even reporters and journalists will be seen talking about him.

 

 

The movie is set to release on August 13 and Aamir is busy for promoting the movie, in his own selected ways. The movie has already gained much acceptance among the Indian audience, as it covers the much addressed issue of the Indian society.
