Nokia N900, which was seen only in spy shots and leaked pictures, has now become official. This comes just a week before the Nokia world event.

The N900 is not as "normal" N Series device. Nokia N900 is the first of the Maemo 5-based Internet dose, which takes over the Nokia N810. N900 comes with an ARM Cortex A8 which offers the users with a 1GB application memory and Open GL ES 2.0 Graphics acceleration support.

The OS is Linux-based Maemo 5 which offers the device a comprehensive multitasking ability. These along with the powerful processor make the Maemo 5 powerful enough to complete with the iPhone.

The N900 comes with a WVGA touch screen and a full, slide out QWERTY keyboard, complete with its 3 rows. It comes with 32GB of memory and with an expansion slot for a memory up to 48GB. The N900 is equipped with a 5 MP camera. N900 also provides the A-GPS and FM transmitter support.

The N900 will have a browser based on Mozilla. Fennec is a fully featured browser and will show content "as is", says Nokia. The N900 comes equipped completely with Adobe Flash 9.4 support. On the connectivity front, it supports HSPA Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity as well.

The Nokia N900 will be available in select markets from October 2009 at an estimated retail price of EUR 500 (Rs. 35,000 approx.) excluding sales taxes and subsidies.
