‘Munni Badnam’ Gives Hell To Real Life Munnis Malaika Arora Khan |
‘Munni Badnam’ is the biggest chartbusters this year, but the Malaika Arora special item has proven bad for women with the name ‘Munni’. One such woman from Pakistan is even forced to close the shop she owns.
Munni, from Pakistan has two kids and for making a living she runs a small shop just below her house, but the taunts in regard to the song and her name, made her shut it down after getting humiliated.
Munni reveals, “Every now and then someone will come to my store and say `Munni badnaam hui darling tere liye` in front of my customers. First I didn`t pay much attention and tried to ignore it, but then it became a routine event and I started to get irritated.”
She continues, “Even sober and reserved people have sung this song loudly while passing by my store. I have scolded many of them but they just laugh and run away.”
"Finally, I couldn`t take this behavior any more and closed my shop for several days. Now it`s been two months and either I don`t open my store or if I do open it, then I don`t sit at the counter myself."

She ends saying that the song has become a nightmare for her and when boys sees her, they will sing it in full chorus.
There is another incident which talks about Shahida Munni, principal of a school, the school children cracks jokes and have nick named as her ‘Munni’.
Shahida adds, “While walking in my neighborhood, I am always scared that someone will start to sing the song. Most of the time my fears become reality as many boys either sing the song loudly or play it on the stereo.”
She says that the song may be a hit, but it attracts unnecessary attention and she gets scared when anyone plays the song in neighborhood.
