Michael Douglas Fight With Cancer Continues, Danny Devito Accepts Award On His Behalf Michael Douglas |
Hollywood icon Michael Douglas is handling his ill health bravely and at the same time is trying to come back to his normal routine. Recently the star was spotted dropping his daughter to school in New York.
The actor is currently undergoing treatment to cure his deadly throat cancer and doctors have informed him that he has 80 per cent chance of survival.
Meanwhile, the close friend of Douglas, Danny Devito accepted the Golden Icon Award on his behalf at the Zurich Film Festival.
While accepting the award DeVito, told the audience, "Michael is so strong. He gets better and better with every movie he makes. So that's why I tell him to work more."
However, last week Douglas health raised concerns when his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones made a sudden exit from the Ryder Cup Golf Tournament after getting a call from 66-year old actor’s doctor.
On Wednesday Zeta-Jones had said, “'Michael's not travelling with me this weekend. He's just finishing up his treatment. He's holding up very, very well and everyone could not be happier with the progress. He's doing fine thanks.”
She added, 'He's strong and the doctors are so happy and he's just about to complete - what anyone who's gone through it knows - a pretty gruelling eight weeks.'
