Love Aaj Kal |
After the hit music of "Jab We Met", director Imtiaz Ali has joined hands with Pritam once again for the music of Saif Ali Khan's home production debut "Love Aaj Kal". All the songs in this movie are soulful melodies and very enchanting also.
"Aahun aahun", has an electrifying start with the strumming of the guitar. This is a fusion of a hit Punjabi pop song by singer Jazzy B and a Hindi song composed by Pritam. Sung by Neeraj Shridhar, the song keeps juggling between the two genres and is very entertaining. The number also has a remixed version.

The next is a beautiful song in Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's voice, "Aaj din chadeyya" that starts with a small alaap. A romantic song which is extremely soothing to the ears, “Aaj din ...” it strikes a chord with the music buffs.
With vocals by Sunidhi Chauhan and Neeraj Sridhar, the next song "Chor bazari" is a foot tapping, peppy number. The remix version of this number is quite average.
KK makes his presence felt with fast-paced song "Main kya hoon", which is enhanced by the psychedelic and electronic beats.
The next song "Thoda thoda pyar", has the Punjabi flavour and is sung by Sunidhi Chauhan. It has a folk touch to it in places.
Neeraj Sridhar returns with "Twist", which is intermingled with the song "Ek pardesi mera dil le gaya" from the 1958 film “Phagun". It's a dance number that is high on beats. But if you hear the remixed version, you will that remix is better than the original track.
Finally we have Mohit Chauhan singing "Ye dooriyan". The song is just about “passers muster”, but the vocals of Mohit catch your attention.
On the whole, Pritam has done a good job with the soundtrack and created songs that are sure to become hits.
