Honda’s Super Bike, VFR1200F Comes At Rs. 17.5 Lakh Honda’s Super Bike, VFR1200F |
Honda’s new super bike, VFR1200F, priced at Rs. 17.5 lakh (ex-showroom price Delhi) has been launched on Friday.
The company unveiled the model at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2009 and began its production in October 2009.
"This fun bike is manufactured at the Honda's most advanced facility and the mother plant of global motorcycles - the Kumamoto factory in Japan. VFR1200F is a concept driven by extensive customer needs and adaptation of state-of-the-art technologies," Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India President and CEO Shinji Aoyama was quoted as saying.
The high-end model is powered by the 1,237 cc (75.5 cu in) V4 engine and is the first motorcycle to come equipped with dual clutch transmission. However, the bike has one drawback that the fuel tank capacity has been reduced from 22 litres in its previous VFR800 to 18.5 litres in the new model, which is not much welcomed.
The model’s braking system includes both dual combined braking system and anti-lock brakes (ABS).
The super bike will be available in the Indian market after August 16 and will give a mileage of 15.9 km a litre if driven on the fuel efficient mode called mode-D.
