Demi Moore Launches Campaign Against Sex Trafficking Demi Moore |
The rise in number of child sex trafficking cases in US has worried the Hollywood actress Demi Moore and her actor husband, Ashton Kutcher. The couple has launched a campaign to fight against this harrowing issue.
Moore, 47 has started a foundation called ‘The Demi and Ashton (DNA) Foundation’ with Kutcher to make people of America aware of this serious problem. The actress also met the officials at the White House to discuss the issue.
Demi Moore quoted, "I think many Americans are more willing to accept that girls are being trafficked in Cambodia and can't imagine it's happening right here... It's more profitable and less risky to sell a girl than drugs. Demand for prostitution fuels sex trafficking. And I think clearly our system isn't working.”
Later, Moore visited the White House along with three female sex abuse victims to discuss human trafficking with White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett.
"Appreciated the opportunity to participate today in a Congressional briefing to end Child Sex Slavery in America," Moore wrote on her social networking site.
