This July 22nd, the world will witness the greatest eclipse of this new century. Cox and Kings along with Eclipse Chasers Athenaeum are organizing a historical flight to view the spectacle aboard a JetLite flight.
This eclipse will only be visible from within a narrow corridor that traverses half the Earth. The path of the Moon’s umbral shadow will begin in India and cross through Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar and China.
Passengers aboard the flight will fly over the clouds and get an enviable view of the longest eclipse of the century. The plane, taking off from Delhi, will hover over Gaya at 41,000 feet at 6.30 in the morning to give viewers a 3 minute view of the eclipse.
What is strange is that only passengers on one side will get to see the event while the passengers on the other side will only get to watch a dismal scene of the clouds bathed in the eclipse’s shadow.
There are four classes of seats available, depending on the sun’s visibility. These tickets will be priced at Rs. 79,000, Rs. 67,000, Rs. 59,000 and Rs. 29,000 per seat.
This event is a must-see for all science and nature buffs.
