The new BMW X1- a compact and versatile Sports Utility Vehicle is all set to enter the Indian market. The new milestone in BMW Group was officially unveiled at 2010 Auto Expo in New Delhi. BMW X1 was introduced for the first time at 2009 Paris Motor Show. The CKD production of the new model is expected to start at company's Chennai facility by the end of 2010.
Peter Kronschnabl, President, BMW India elaborating on the new X1 said, "The CKD Production of the BMW X1 is a key milestone in BMW Group's India strategy. The BMW X1 is the recent addition in the X family line which is subjugated by the X5 SUV and X6 Cross Over. The X1 follows X3 Soft Roader which has been widely popular in India. X1 seems to be a complete winner and expected to be more affordable than the other models. Customers are surely to be fascinated with X1 which boasts to be compact and versatile.
