Yamaha Vmax Launched in India Yamaha Vmax |
Yamaha India launched in the country a new two wheeler on Wednesday priced at Rs. 20 Lakh.
This was followed by another launch, namely a launch of the limited edition of Fazer and SZ Series models. The launches were made in light of the coming festival season.
“We are expecting almost three times the sales in the two months of the festive season (starting October),” said Yuki Mine Tsuji, Yamaha chief executive and managing director.
“We are targeting selling 2.5 lakh untis in India by this year,” Tsuji told reporters. The company is also aiming at achieving a 10 percent market share by 2012.
The Yamaha Vmax has already had an international presence since 1985 and has gone through little upgrades until 2005 when the engine was completely overhauled; the older 1200cc being replaced by a modern 1700cc V4 engine. The new Vmax also features a new aluminium frame and updated looks.
