Toyota To Suspend Selling Lexus GX460 Toyota Lexus GX460 |
Toyota has announced to suspend selling its Lexus GX460 SUV after an unusually high risk of a rollover accident during certain types of turns in the US.
This is the latest blow to the Japanese automaker after a series of recalls to its various models just months ago.
Toyota also said that it would conduct its own testing for the vehicle.
According to reports, the GX460 has been given a clear signal of ‘Don't Buy: Safety Risk’, suspecting of more rollover accidents due to the technical glitch.
The Japanese auto major has sold about 5,000 GX460s in three months since it went on sale. However, the recent problem may hamper its reputation as well as sales all over the world.
Earlier, Toyota has recalled 8.5 million vehicles including the Prius models globally for problems including sticky gas pedal that causes sudden acceleration.
The same problem has been linked to Laxus vehicles for fatal accidents in the US since 2007.
