Toyota Etios Liva Launch Postponed To June Toyota Etios Liva |
The much-awaited launch of Toyota Etios Liva hatchback would still be delayed till June, sources said. Delay in production and a long waiting period of the recently launched Etios model are cited as reasons for postponement of Etios Liva hatchback. Initially, the car was scheduled to be launched sometime around in April.
The company, meanwhile, is planning for second shift for quick production and to reduce per vehicle production time. The Etios sedan, which was launched in December and started its pre-orders, has been delayed with its waiting period ranging as long as seven months. It seems that, as of now, Toyota could concentrate on Etios sedan.
“We would like to sincerely apologize to people eagerly awaiting the hatchback – Etios Liva, for the postponement of the launch. We will do everything we can to limit the inconvenience caused to our customers,” Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM) Managing Director, Sandeep Singh was quoted as saying.
Besides, experts view this as Toyota having chances of losing the market to competitors like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Volkswagen and others in the segment if it further delays the vehicle launch.
