Sunil says he strongly condemns the Naxal violence, but he also thinks that the guerrillas are not terrorists. He plays the lead role in movie ‘Red Alert-The War Within’, based on a real story.
It is true to say, empathizing with someone is the true measure of their plight. Sunil Shetty is going through something similar now-a-days. He plays the protagonist role in the Movie ‘Red Alert- The War Within’. It is based on a real story.
The movie is inspired from the Naxal history and Sunil plays as a famer in the movie.
He said “Naxals are often helpless people who have been exploited, their mineral ores seized and their existence threatened. One cannot just eliminate or deal with them harshly because they are our own people and not terrorists.”
Sunil further adds “It is quite disheartening that the Naxal violence has taken such shocking proportions. Violence can only result in violence and the Red Belt is bleeding with violence now. The more we try to get out of this complicated situation, the more we get knotted up.”
The film is releasing on July 9 and it was screened at the South Asian International Film Festival (SAIFF). Sunil was also honored with the best actor award.
The movie is shot and dubbed in four languages- English, Hindi, Telegu and Chattisgarhi. The movie will also be dubbed in Bengali.
