This is happening for the first time in the life of Oscar and Grammy Award winner composer and singer AR Rahman, that he is being criticized. Popular singer Sukhwinder Singh also adds to the thought by saying that he has become over confident and is facing a professional setback.

 

One couldn’t believe that he is the man who was getting standing ovations almost every day, but is it true that the singer has become overconfident and didn’t do justice to the 5.5 crore composition of the official CWG song?

 

Sukhwinder Singh adds, “I am quite upset with the flak coming Rahman's way, but, sometime back, I read Rahman's interview where he said that 'the CWG theme song would be better than Shakira's Waka Waka!' I had wondered then if this is really the Rahman that I've known who was very humble and would never praise his own creations so blatantly. At that time I felt that Rahman's become overconfident because a genius never speaks; only his work does the talking!"

 

Well his statement has a point that Rahman had the over confidence that he would prove to the world that Indians can also give neck to neck competition to the other world famous singers. Or it was just a statement that he might have told in excitement?

 

Sukhwinder also doesn’t seem to be happy about the lyrics used in the songs and he thinks that Rahman must have taken help from esteemed lyricist Gulzar.

 

He adds, “Whenever Rahman won a major award, there was a teamwork that supported his endeavour. There was poetic excellence and singers' contribution, which added life to his music. Usse Gulzar saab ki yaad kyun nahin aayi? After all, Jai Ho was his poetic contribution!"

Sukhi ends saying that may be everybody have over expectations from the singer and he is facing a professional set back in his life.
