After 'Delhi-6', actress Sonam Kapoor is all set to appear in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's next movie. The film will be based on the legendry love story of Mirza and Sahibaan. Filmmakers have made movies on several love stories like Heer-Ranjha', ‘Laila-Majnu', ‘Sohni-Mahiwal' but nobody has gone for the screen adaptation of ‘Mirza-Sahibaan'.
Sonam Kapoor will play the role of Sahibaan in the film. It is said that Sahibaan was so beautiful that the nine angels that guarded the spheres died when she stepped out into the streets of Punjab. Sahibaan fell in love with her cousin Mirza and both of them eloped on the day when she was supposed to marry another man.
Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra had got the idea of screen adaptation of ‘Mirza-Sahibaan' during the making of his last film, 'Delhi-6'. Although it is fixed that Sonam will play the role of Sahibaan, but is not sure who will play Mirza. As per close sources, Abhishek Bachchan might be approached to play Sonam's lover in the film. Junior Bachchan had also paired Sonam in Delhi-6.
Anil Kapoor's daughter is also supposed to appear in Dharma Productions' next flick. The film under the banner of Dharma Productions will be directed by Manish Malhotra’s nephew Punit Malhotra. Apart Sonam, Imran Khan will also been seen in the film, which is scheduled to go on floors from September onwards.
