The case of Shiney Ahuja, who has been accused for raping his teenaged domestic help, has been adjourned by a sessions court on Wednesday to October 16. This comes in view of the submission of the Bombay High Court stay order by his lawyer, which has put a stay on the framing of charges for a week.
The arguments on the framing of charges had been slated for Oct 7.
The Bombay High Court on Tuesday had put a stay on the framing of charges against Ahuja till next week. This step was adopted by the High Court after prosecution demanded time for filing a reply for Shiney’s petition demanding forensic and medical reports.
Ahuja's lawyer Shrikant Shivade produced the High Court order in front of the trial court, after which the hearing was adjourned to Oct 16 by Judge S R Trivedi.
