Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt’s Pali Hill flat and Santacruz office has been attached on Tuesday after the actor was unsuccessful to compensate film producer Shakeel Noorani who had to undergo massive losses because Dutt left his movie halfway.

 

The Sheriff’s office was instructed by the execution department of High Court to attach the actor’s said properties after Noorani sought for the execution of an arbitration award in support of him passed by the Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA).

 

It is reported that back in 2001, Dutt signed a movie with producer Noorani called Jaan Ki Baazi. The actor was also reportedly paid Rs 50 lakh for signing the movie. However, after the movie was half completed, Dutt stopped shooting for the flick resulting in a massive loss for Noorani who then went to the IMPPA.

 

Dutt reportedly didn’t turn up, neither did he reimburse the money back to Noorani and after which IMPPA had to pass the award of compensation on January this year. Though, Dutt could have challenged it in High Court within 30 days, but, he didn’t do that either.

 

Noorani’s lawyer Ashok Sarogi said, “The legal recourse available to Dutt is that he can appeal against the execution order before the High Court prothonotary department or else the properties could be disposed off.”
