Hollywood’s latest heartthrob Sam Worthington has become the hot favourite choice to play the new James Bond. According to movie experts, he is an ideal actor who can portray the role of iconic spy in the next 007 James Bond.
The spectulations rose after it was announced by the bosses of Bond Movie that the next instalment of 007 flick has been put on hold for indefinite period.
Bookmaker William Hill has named Worthington as favourite to take the place of current bond star, Daniel Craig. But, it is expected that Craig will make his return as Ian Fleming's iconic spy in the 23rd sequel of Bond flick.
Meanwhile, Mark Batey of the Film Distributors Association said at the launch event for a trailer promoting this summer's film releases, that the Bond films were ‘the backbone of British cinema’.
He said, "The prospect of not having a picture in next year's schedule obviously does raise eyebrows. But we are very optimistic Bond will be back and we look forward to that."
Earlier, it was announced by the producers of the James Bond movies, Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli that the 007 movie has been suspended for indefinite time following the uncertainty about the future of movie studio MGM.
The pair announced, "Due to the continuing uncertainty surrounding the future of MGM we have suspended development on Bond 23 indefinitely.”
