Rihanna Felt Her New Album ‘Rated R’ Very Personal Rihanna |
Singer Rihanna has revealed she had to struggle to record her new album "Rated R" because some of the songs in the album were about the troubles in her personal life.
The 21-year-old who was assaulted by her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown at a pre-Grammy Awards party in February has said the recording process for the LP was very personal because of the subject matter of the songs, reports contactmusic.com.
"It's the closest album to me, to my heart. I opened up a lot on it and got a little vulnerable and let my emotions out on it. Everything's documented on the album," she said.
"I'm able to listen back to it now but in the beginning it was really weird. I couldn't listen to demos or anything. It was too deep for me. I kept leaving the studio when people wanted to listen to the songs," she added.
