Beyonce Earns 10 Nominations At 52nd Grammy Awards Beyonce |
Beyonce will be the queen of the 52nd Grammy Awards in January (10) after landing a total of 10 nominations.
The R&B superstar picked up three nods at the Grammy Nominations Concert in Los Angeles on Wednesday night (02Dec09) - for Song of the Year (Single Ladies (Put A Ring on It)), Record of the Year (Halo) and Best Album (I Am... Sasha Fierce) - and another seven were added on Thursday morning (03Dec09).
Taylor Swift, who also claimed three honours at the nominations party, picked up another five to take her tally to eight, while the Black Eyed Peas, Maxwell and Kanye West landed six apiece.
That means the Grammys will be the first major awards show West and Swift have both attended since the rapper interrupted the country star's Best Female Video acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards in September (09) to protest her win over Beyonce.
Gracious Beyonce later gave up one of her own acceptance speeches to let Swift have "her moment".
Also celebrating Christmas early with multiple nominations are DJ David Guetta, Jay-Z and Lady Gaga, who received five nods each, and Colbie Caillat, Michael Giacchino, Kings Of Leon, John Newton, RedOne, Bruce Springsteen, T-Pain, and Keith Urban, who picked up four nominations.
America's Recording Academy members now have until 8 January (10) to vote for their winners in all 109 categories. The Grammy Awards will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on 31 January (10).
