Competition Commission of India passed orders last Thursday night that KFCC (Karnataka Film Chamber Of Commerce) can’t prevent Reliance Big Pictures from screening ‘Raavan’ in Karnataka.”
A straight order form the Competition Commission of India said “The movie is anti-competitive and abuse of dominant position. It’s a free trade and no association can stop the number of prints.’’
The movie was released on Friday much to the relief of Reliance Big Pictures, who are the sole distributors of the film through the nation.
Reliance Big Pictures has also filed a complaint against KFCC and Competition Commission of India has asked for an explanation from them till June 22.
The Tamil and Hindi version of the film was released in 24 theatres in Karnataka. Big cinemas also changed the time of certain Kannada movies and put ‘Raavan’ in the prime time show.
