‘Red Alert’ Travels To Chhattisgarh |
'Red Alert 'will be released worldwide tomorrow and it opens in 20 cinemas in Chhattisgarh. The movie is specially dubbed in Chhattisgarhi language, as the state falls in the Maoist territory.
The locals of the state will be able to watch the movie in Hindi and even Chhattisgarhi language. This special effort has been taken by the director of the movie, Anant Mahadevan. Bengal and Chhattisgarh falls in the parameters of the Naxals, so the movie got dubbed in Chhattisgarhi language.
It was supposed to be further dubbed in Bengali language, but due to state’s opposition it couldn’t be done.
Mahadevan adds, “We couldn’t dub it in ‘Bangla’ because the association in the state supposedly has a ban on dubbing a non-Bengali film in Bengali. But a month ago, we came up with a Chhattisgarhi version.”
The movie releases tomorrow worldwide and it will be screened in 550 theatres in India alone. It also covers 40 theatres in the South Indian region.
‘Red Alert’ will be released in US and UK in Hindi and English language. Anant adds, “When a subtitled print was screened at the Stuttgart Film Festival, there was a clamour for English and German versions. We dubbed it in English and sold that version to a UK film distribution company called Highfliers.”
