There is a buzz that the Wake Up Sid director Ayaan Mukherji who is a close friend of Ranbir Kapoor's wanted both Ranbir and Deepika Padukone to work for his next movie. But, Ranbir turned down the offer.

 

According to sources, Ayaan wants the female character of his movie to be somewhat like that of Deepika’s role in Love Aaj Kal.

 

The sources added that the moment Ranbir was told by Ayaan that he wants to sign Deepika for the movie, he refused to work in it. One of the obvious reasons is that Deepika was his ex-girlfriend but, the most important fact might be Deepika’s statements against him on the chat show Koffee With Karan which upset Ranbir.

 

However the director denied the rumors and said, "It is not true. Speculation is pointless right now because the truth is that I am still in the process of writing the script of my film. Only when the script is finalised, will we decide who suits the part best, and then approach that actress with an offer."
