Prashant Narayanan Doesn’t Want A Kisser Tag Prashant Narayanan |
The actor of the controversial movie, Mr. Singh & Mrs. Mehta, Prashant Narayanan says even after those 32 lip locks in his movie, he can’t be stereotyped a kisser.
Comparison comes into picture; the moment a new comer into the Bollywood film industry does something similar to the old ones. Yes, talking about kisser boy, Emraan Hashmi, responsible for creating that stereotype.
Surprisingly, the theatre man, Prashant denies accepting the fact, that he even knows the actor!
He adds, “Who's Emraan Hashmi?"
"I never heard of Emraan Hashmi before people started asking me if I am the next Emraan Hashmi. I have not seen any of his films. As far as the kisser tag is concerned, I don't want the tag and I did not sign the film hoping for it. May be it worked for Emraan, but I don't want it,"
The 37 year old actor is a well established name in the independent cinema and he has enacted in films like Chhal and The White Elephant.
He hates being stereotyped and doesn’t want a niche or a box to be created for him.
He adds, “I don't want to create a niche for myself because I dream of becoming the most versatile actor in the industry. I have done commercial stuff as well as films shot on digital cameras in trains and on the street. My next film has not one kissing scene by the way.”
In his beginning days, he was an assistant to Govind Nihalani, and then he worked in Award winning German director Florian Gallenberger's film Shadows of Time, Bombil and Beatrice. The films were also premiered in the Cannes film festival.
He says things shouldn’t be overdone or over speculated and adds, "I am sure I had more than 34 kisses in the film, I was not counting though you see. The film takes a very honest look at infidelity and the kisses were not forced into the script for shock value or to create controversy,"
The movie, Mr. Singh & Mrs. Mehta is releasing the coming Friday, where Prashant plays the role of a painter (Ashwin Mehta). Aruna Shields plays opposite to him.
