Now, Philips is another tech major to join the AirPlay bandwagon. Philips has announced its Fidelio SoundSphere speaker system that is enabled with AirPlay.
The new Philips AirPlay-supported speakers will allow music streaming wirelessly from iTunes on Apple devices including iPhones, iPad, iPod Touch and computers.
The speakers are so aesthetically designed that compels you to possess one. With elliptical shape, the twin speakers come in black shade with elegant metallic finish in the upper part. The speakers are equipped with tweeters at the top of the device. These tweeters let out high-frequency sounds around 360 degrees.
The Phillips Fidelio SoundSphere speaker system would initially come priced at €799. Initially, the device would be launched in the European market.
AirPlay is a protocol developed by the technology giant Apple. Though it was initially developed for Apple devices, the company has now started giving license to other equipment makers. AirPlay allows wireless streaming of video, audio and pictures.
