Peepli Live In Controversy |
Aamir’s production house movie, ‘Peepli Live’ is just a day away from its release, when it got into controversy. This sudden controversy has resulted because of a song in the movie, ‘Chola Maati Ke Raam’.
There is an issue of plagiarism over the use of the song, which is composed by Gangaram Siwar from Chattisgarh. But, the ‘Peepli’ makers say that they have already got the rights of the song.
So, when the movie is about to release, the people from Chattisgarh are asking for money from the film-makers. Nageen Tanwir, the singer of the song adds, “Many of these village musicians are financially deprived and you cannot blame them for trying to make the most of this opportunity.”
He adds further, “The song “Chola Maati Ke Ram” has been composed by Gangaram Siwar in Chattisgarh, but the Habib Tanvir theatre group has officially purchased rights for the song. So I don't understand why people from Chattisgarh are asking for their due again.”
Well, the nature of controversy is not that disputable and it is just a matter of a baseless argument. Such small controversies often work as a good publicity stunt just before the release of the film.
