Popular camera manufacturer Panasonic has officially launched its latest digital snapper, Lumix LX5. This product is expected to carry the same reputation like the earlier LX3.
Panasonic has described the latest device as the ultimate compact, high-performing digital camera. It boasts of an improved ultra-bright F2.0 ultra-wide-angle 24mm Leica lens and has extended optical zoom of up to 3.8x (90mm).
"The Panasonic Lumix LX-Series cameras have been extremely popular models for us with professional and enthusiast photographers, who understand and value the superb image quality such a compact, affordable digital camera can offer," said David Briganti, Senior Product Manager, Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company.
"We expect the same enthusiasm, if not more, for the LUMIX LX5, which features improvements to the lens and processing – resulting in even better images," he said.
The Panasonic Lumix LX5 will cost about $499.95 (c£327) to the user and the camera is expected to reach the US market in late August or early September 2010.
