Pentax has released the detailed specs for its upcoming 645D medium-format camera which is expected to sport a 40 megapixel sensor with it.
The pentax 645D has a well protected body having 70 seals for resistance to dust, water and temperatures. It sports the sensor made by Kodak and has a SAFOX IX+ autofocus system with up to 11 sensor points.
The new product boasts of several features like Real Image Engine, Dust Removal II system, glass prism viewfinder and 14-bit A/D converter. There is also option for loading two separate card slots, both holding a single SD/SDHC memory card.
Pentax has also planned to launch its D-FA 645 55mm F2.8 AL lens together with the camera body. The lens is equivalent to 43.5mm in the 35 format and is with a well protected design. This is the first completely rounded diaphragm design from the company.
The 645D camera is expected to come to the stores in May at a cost of ¥850,000 (~$9,500 USD). The lens will cost around ¥100,000 (~$1,100).
