Hollywood beauty Natalie Portman who is attracting Oscar buzz with her latest movie, ‘Black Swan’ is reportedly eager to portray the role of Snow White in an upcoming venture of Brett Ratner.
However, no deal has been signed by the star yet but she is apparently keeping high hopes to star in the new version of classic fairytale. The movie which is titled ‘Brothers Grimm: Snow White’ will be directed by ‘Amelie’ director Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Melisa Wallack has started penning the script for the 3-D project
Meanwhile, Ratner has claimed that the classic fairytale will be told in a very different way in his new offering.
Ratner quoted, "This is not your grandfather`s Snow White. Melisa went back to the 500 year old folk tale and put in some of the things that were missing from Walt Disney`s film. His dwarves were miners, and here they are robbers. There is also a dragon that was in the original folk tale. Walt made one of the great movies of all time, but ours is edgy and there is more comedy.”
“The original, made for its time, was soft compared to what we`re going to do," added Ratner.
