Finally on Wednesday month long spectulations about American Idol judges ended and the new judge panel was introduced to the world. For American Idol's tenth season, singer-actress Jennifer Lopez and Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler will join Randy Jackson. Yes, the panel has been reduced to three members following the departure of Cowell, Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi.
It is believed that for the show, Tyler is picking up $18million while Lopez is banking only $12million. Talking about the deal, executive producer Nigel Lythgoe decided to defend J.Lo who was rumoured to be asking for a lucrative deal with Fox Films and Fox Broadcasting for movie projects.
"There was so much rubbish out there, we heard she only liked yellow M&Ms," Nigel Lythgoe said.
Meanwhile, ‘Love Don’t Cost A Thing’ hitmaker who was looking extremely glamorous at the event said she cannot be harsh on words like acid-mouthed Simon Cowell.
"I believe in tough love but I don't think I can ever be cruel to another artist. There are definitely better ways to say things."
On the other hand, Tyler told about the reaction that he received from his band members after unveiling the possibilities of him joining the show.
“At first, they were jealous. They heard it through the press and not from me. But four months ago they were looking for another lead singer. I spent a stint in Betty Ford. They have been judging me every day, and sometimes it hurt, but most times I came out through the worm hole a stronger person. It's a real journey with those guys. And they would say the same about me. I'm sure they are real happy for me.”
It might have come as a shock for many ‘American Idol’ fans as earlier it was reported that Lopez and Taylor are unsure of joining the panel but ‘all’s well that ends well’. We hope to see another entertaining season of the show with new judges.
