Michael Jackson’s Tomb To Be Decorated With Sunflowers Michael Jackson |
The tomb of the late King of Pop Michael Jackson is set to be adorned with thousands of sunflowers.
Flower merchant Jason Levin, of the company sunflowerguy.com, informed that he was to deliver several thousand flowers to the cemetery in Glendale, California on Friday.
The delivery followed a phonecall two days earlier from Jackson's ex-wife Lisa Marie Presley. Elvis Presley's daughter, who was married to Jackson 1994-6, had complained that the late pop star's grave was adorned with very few flowers, candles and gifts.
Presley noted that Jackson loved to receive flowers, and he liked sunflowers best.
"When we were married, I would try and fill up rooms with them wherever he was," she said.
Presley said she herself had placed a large vase of silk sunflowers at the tomb.
"We can all cause a 'Sun shower' if you will," she asked her fans.
Michael Jackson died in June, at age 50, of an overdose of painkillers. In September his body was taken to a large mausoleum at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, near Los Angeles.
