Kevin Smith Vows Never To Fly With Southwest Airlines Again Kevin Smith |
When moviemaker Kevin Smith was asked to leave the Southwest Airlines flight during a weekend because he was overweight, the on-lookers said that he moved out quietly.
But now ‘The Flying Car’ filmmaker finally broke his silence and has vowed that he will never fly with Southwest Airlines again. After the incident the director has flooded twitter with his 200 posts and produced a lengthy podcast slamming Southwest Airlines.
In a post on his popular website, the humiliated filmmaker has promised to ‘scorch the earth’ with his complaints against airline bosses.
The director insisted, “I'm never going on Southwest again. I’m way fat, but I’m not there just yet.”
The mortified filmmaker said that he purchased two seats for the Oakland-Burbank flight. But he arrived at the airport early and got the last standby seat on an earlier flight. Once he was seated, a flight attendant told him that the pilot had determined him a safety risk and asked him to leave even though he fit in the seat with the armrests down.
In response, a spokesman for the airline said, "We want to assure everyone that has expressed concern over the situation that we will use this experience in our customer service program when training our employees on the correct way to apply the policy.”
