Karan Johar Can’t Make Movies Without Music Karan Johar |
As a part of ongoing Dubai International Film Fest, the stage was set for Karan Johar and an Arab woman to have some tit for tat replies regarding Indian movies. Johar and Dubai will surely have an inseparable relation from now on. Forget huge number of Indian presence over there, the situation called in for Bollywood actor cum director cum producer to make his presence felt this time. He stole the show with some replies to a woman from Middle East that made the whole crowd think.
While Indian films used to have a huge following in Lebanon and Egypt some years back, Amit Khanna from Reliance Big Pictures said that movie relations were now no longer as powerful as they were once.
Johar comes into picture now.Movies like Kabhi Kushi Kabhie Gham, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna made huge money some years back, mainly through theatre ticket sales. They were set in glossy picturesque locations and had beautiful stars in it.
Karan is also a good speaker. However, a lady from Middle East questioned on why he always succumbed on having mood music to capture the heart of Indians. Almost the entire world knows the fact that Indians love good songs, but she measured his movies against Moroccan director Nassim Abassi who made Majid movie. Even that film had a sad story but didn’t use music to have tears from audiences.
Johar quickly replied, “I am sorry but I do not have the confidence to make a film without background score. Every time, I did that, I went back to the editing room and added a whole lot of instrumental notes. I love my songs, I love my dances, and I missed them when I did My Name is Khan.”
He even further said, “as long as one can make viewers cry, one can go laughing all the way to the bank.”
