Actress Kangna Ranaut always regretted missing the college life but her new flick Tanu Weds Manu fulfilled her wish. The actress who portrays the role of a Delhi University student stayed at the hostel to prepare for the role.
The movie bosses wanted Kangna to observe closely the life of young girls staying in the hostel and arranged her stay at the PG Women`s Hostel in 2009 however strict measures were taken to hide her identity.
"The character of Tanu is rooted in Delhi University. I stayed there and it helped me in my performance. Till date I am thankful to the girl who hosted me and was my roommate. We ended up becoming friends," Kangna said.
Tanu Weds Manu is a romantic comedy film directed by Aanand Rai, and produced by Shailesh R Singh. It also stars Madhavan and Jimmy Shergill in the lead roles. The film will hit theatres on February 25.
