Kangana Ranaut gave a different nickname to R Madhavan who is already known as Maddy. She named him Maryada Purushottam Ram.

 

The reason behind choosing this name is Madhavan’s character in the movie. He plays a decent guy who knows his limits and always follows the good path.

 

The movie Tanu Weds Manu’s director Anand L Rai said, "For the story to work, both Maddy and Kangna had to share a comfortable relationship with each other, on as well as off the screen. Thankfully there was a lot of travelling required during the making of the film due to which they further started bonding with each other."
 

While shooting for the movie Kangna teased Madhavan telling him that she has thought upon a nickname for him. After teasing Madhavan for quite sometime she named him Maryada Purushottam Ram.

Anand added, "Maddy was of course pleased with what his co-star thought of her. Though he felt good that Kangna had a sense of respect due to his overall good conduct and demeanour at the sets, he was also embarrassed that he was being addressed as 'Maryada Purushottam Ram'."
